Jaisalmer
A town in the Indian state of Rajasthan, with Palace It, was once known as Jaiswal with the palace and several jain temples, Situated along the Thar Desert, It is one of the most admired tourist destinations across the world. Also known as the "Golden City of India" due to the yellow sand and sandstone used in all its architecture and its surrounding area. It is the administrate headquarters of Jaisalmer District.
Like all other cities of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer too has its own glorious past to boast about. History of Jaisalmer draws heavily from the history of the Rajputana. The city is said to be founded by a Bhati Rajput ruler named Raja Rawal Jaisal around 1156 A.D. Anecdotes suggest that he did it on the advice of a local hermit named Eesaal. The king chose Trikut hill as the new site for his fort because he thought that his previous abode at Lodurva (16 km from present Jaisalmer) was vulnerable towards possible enemy assault.
The main tourist attractions in Jaisalmer are the Jaisalmer Fort, various exquisitely carved havellis like the Nathmalji-ki-Haveli, and Patwon-ki-Haveli, Gadsisar Lake, fine Jain Temples, Ludurva, Bada Bagh and Aakal, Desert fossil park, Sam Sand Dunes .Sam

Located at a distance of 42kms from Jaisalmer city, Sam is a place far away from a busy hectic noisy life of metro cities, where every sunrise and sunset, the lighter shade yellow dunes and cultural folk dance performance of the Kalbelia dancers, creates a landmark in memories.
